Why say #NCSYES?
National Citizen Service is a once in a lifetime experience for 15-17 year-olds that builds skills and confidence, helping young people to get ahead in work and life. The programme connects young people to their local community by enabling them to design and deliver their own social action projects.
How it works
Phase 1 Adventure
On a 5 day, 4 night residential you will get the chance to experience activities such as climbing, bog snorkeling and target sports in rural Exmoor. You will get the chance to meet new people whilst camping in a pre prepared campstite all in the safety of trained professionals.
Phase 2 Skills for life
Another 5 day, 4 nights residential based away from home in a uni-style environment where you’ll develop life skills like confidence, leadership and communication to boost your CV or UCAS personal statement.
Phase 3 Action
Working in teams you will put all the skills and experience you’ve learnt into a social action project that will really make a difference to your local community.
Phase 4 Graduation event
At the end of each programme we’ll celebrate everything you’ve achieved, you will get the chance to reconnect with all the people you spent the summer with in our SRYP NCS Graduation.
